THE CURRY FAMILY
Lizzie Curry (Female mezzo lead; Early 20's to Late 30's)
is a strong, smart, but very plain looking spinster. She yearns desperately for
romance.
Jimmy Curry (Male tenor tap dancer supporting; Late teens
- Late 20's) is Lizzie's younger brother. He is big and broad-shouldered, but
has the mind of a child. He is filled with longing.
Noah Curry (Male baritone supporting; Late 20's – Early
40's) is Lizzie's older brother. Like his father, without H.C.\'s imagination.
He would appear to be self-righteous and rigidly opinionated were it not for
his basic decency and his warm yearning to be kind.
H.C. Curry (Male baritone supporting; Late 40's to early
60's) is Lizzie's father. He is in his late fifties, powerfully set, capable, and
dependable - but a dreamer too.
File (Male baritone supporting; 35 – 40) is the sheriff,
He is a lean man, reticent, intelligent, in his late thirties. He smiles wryly
at the world and at himself. He is also the town's most eligible bachelor.
Snookie Updegraff (Female mezzo supporting; Late teens -
Early 20's) Strong comedienne
Toby (Male featured tap dancer; Late 20's - Early 40's) is
the middle-aged stationmaster.
Geshy Toops (Male cameo; 20’s – 30’s)
Mrs. Jensen (Female cameo; 30’s – 40’s) is described as
plump and middle aged, good natured
