Notes 07/15/2014

Hello everyone!

First, thank you all for your hard work, dedication and patience this evening. as we worked things out. We still made it quite far even given that we had to stop a few times.

Every night there is more and more improvement...thank you for that, but don't stop now...keep going, keep improving and let's make this something really special.

Tomorrow (tonight) night and Thursday night, I would like for you to start each rehearsal off by going over the waltzing or working on making everything you all do choreography-wise, as precise as possible.

Friday, I am meeting with the leads to work with them, but I would suggest the tappers come and work on making the tap dance spotless. You're so close...you can do it! It just requires practice...please do this outside of rehearsal as well.

Start wearing costumes tomorrow.

This is a last call for special thanks and a last call to let me know if you want to order a t-shirt. If you've already given me your size, don't do it again; although, if you're unsure, feel free to give it to me again. If you've changed your mind, you need to let me know that as well. Remember, the more who order shirts, the less they will cost.

We need a couple of things...help us out if you can, please.

We need a marching band-style bass drum, a sound tech (they will need to come on Thursday at 5, if at all possible, to learn how to do it) and the following musicians: Bass Player and Banjo/Guitar Player.

And now for the notes:

NOTES: 07/15/2014

SUSAN: Remember to say your lines as you walk. Always keep moving or you hold up the line.

EVERYONE: If you move even a little in the freeze, eyes will shoot to you.

MUSIC: Vamp Lizzie's coming home.

STAGE CREW: There was a gap in the traveler during Lizzie's coming home.

JIMMY: Don't do thumbs up.

If they don't notice you come in Lizzie. Ahem.

Noah stand up by the window

They have everything on two shelves for stage business rearrange these for a short time. Make sure the

STAGE CREW/PROPS: Can we use a flower like a sunflower instead.

EVERYONE: Be careful of the curtains. Don't hit them or move them if you aren't supposed to.

JIMMY: "Might even be at the picnic grounds." More mysterious

Fix stage right side

EVERYONE: Hungry men. People this is supposed to be a fun outing. Some of you look angry.

EVERYONE: Once you start praying, don't stop until you say Amen. If the kids can't do this, they may not get to be in this scene. Tonight there was some bickering during the prayer.

JIMMY: "It kind of swole up on me." Louder or the line will get lost.

JIMMY: How many toes you got?  Point/indicate.

NOAH: Remember to shrug off Starbucks arm.

ENSEMBLE: "I think that man's crazy," when you come on, if the lead, Lizzie in particular, isn't talking to someone you can interact with them.

ENSEMBLE: Input reactions. There are times when you are can make sounds and times when you can't. Be aware of this.

ENSEMBLE: After the rain song, move out of the way so that the people saying the lines can be seen as well as heard.

JIMMY: At Starbucks wagon, be closer to Snookie. I think that this will help prevent lines.

JIMMY: When H. C. says that you look foolish with the drum take it off and put it on table.

NOAH: When you say "twisted up," do the arms around yourself thing…ask me to explain it if you don't know what I mean.

NOAH: When H. C. changes the subject, take a moment and look perturbed before you say your next line.

FOR THE PROGRAM/SIGNAGE FOR THE LOBBY: Need a sign warning of strobe lights.

Work on timing of jimmy. Hey jimmy.

EVERYONE: Volume. Volume. Volume.

LIZZIE: When you turn into Lilly Ann look back at file real fast before you commit to the character.

NOAH: Come in by the upstage not downstage entrance.

EVERYONE: All phones to vibrate or off during rehearsal.

PATRICK/FIGHT GUYS: The fights looked good. Practice makes perfect.

LIZZIE: Stand when Starbucks calls you Noah, instead of later.

LIZZIE/MUSIC: Should we speed up simple little things just a hair.

LIZZIE: Pull away more and look out toward the audience when you say "How can I when nobody else will."

SNOOKIE/H. C.: I like the hug instead of the handshake after little red hat.

NOAH: When file enters, counter down left some to keep from forming a line.

NOAH: When you go Stage Right to go find the wagon, don't turn upstage yourself to turn around,

EVERYONE: Quiet backstage.

EVERYONE: Speak confidently.
