Opening Night!

Howdy all!  I hope you're all rested and ready to go!!!

Well, here we are...OPENING NIGHT!!! :) You're all amazing and have worked really hard and this is an incredible show, so tonight, reap the rewards of all of your efforts. Take in the applause when all is through, because you have definitely earned it!

We'll have the theatre open by no later than 6:30, please try to get there as early as possible and get ready. We need to go over tempos and run a few songs, so the sooner you can be there the better. I don't think we'll have to do this every night, but for tonight, please try to be there earlier than 7, if at all possible.

If we can start earlier, great! In the event that we have no choice but to start at 7 (we will need to hold house for 15 minutes-just tonight), let's try to go by this schedule:

7:00 File's Songs (let's try to work his mic check in here)
7:10 Lizzie's Songs (let's try to work her mic check in here)
7:20 Starbuck's Songs (let's try to work his mic check in here)
7:30 Cast Warm Up and go over Cast songs.
7:40 Run children's numbers with movement
7:45 Open house.

If anyone has a chance to get up to the theatre sooner to help with any last minute things, let Shannon know and be there by noon (she has a brief stop-over at the theatre at that time). (And...THANK YOU!)

A few things we need to accomplish still:
If there is another leg to be hung, hang it up stage right.
Somewhere in the theatre (probably under the stairs-in the lobby-on the left side as you walk into the auditorium) there should be curtain hooks. We either need the kind that clamp onto the curtain or we need someone with grommet capabilities to run some grommets through the top of the curtain so that we can hang the scrim.
We need to raise the light bar (if it's not being used - Chris?) that is butting up against the wire we need to use for the scrim.
When Shannon and I were there painting the periaktois blue, unfortunately, some paint went through the drop cloths, we need to repaint that using the main stage brown and redraw the lines.
I think that's it. Try and see what else looks off and finish it.

Finally, as of last night, we have about 25 people coming to see the show tonight. Please be sure to spread the word that we open tonight! It goes without saying that you should do the same show for 2 people as you would 100, but I know it's nice to have a great audience out there. Besides, tonight is the free food/drinks Opening Night Gala, so...you know...

I think that's it! Let's do this!!!

BREAK A LEG!!!

Jared
